FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about doula support?
Learn what a doula does, how Jucely works alongside your partner and medical team, and what to expect when reserving services.
Does a doula replace my doctor, midwife or nurse? +
No. A doula provides non-medical emotional, physical and educational support. Your physician, midwife and hospital team remain responsible for medical care, diagnosis and treatment.
Can I have a doula if I plan to receive an epidural? +
Yes. Doula support can still help with positioning, comfort, communication, emotional reassurance and keeping your partner involved before and after an epidural.
Will a doula replace my partner during labor? +
No. Jucely helps your partner feel more prepared, confident and involved. Doula care strengthens your partner’s role rather than replacing it.
When should I reserve doula services? +
Earlier is usually better because availability is limited by estimated due date. You can still schedule a consultation later in pregnancy to check whether your date is available.
What happens during the free consultation? +
During the complimentary 15-minute consultation, you can discuss your estimated due date, delivery location, birth preferences, questions and the level of support you are considering.
Does the consultation reserve my due date? +
No. Your due date is reserved only after availability is confirmed and the required agreement and payment are completed.
Is support available in Spanish? +
Yes. Jucely offers consultations and doula support in both English and Spanish.
What hospitals and areas do you serve? +
Availability depends on your delivery location and estimated due date. Schedule a free consultation so Jucely can confirm whether your planned hospital or birth location is within the service area.
